Lumen
Lumen is a local-first spaced-repetition app for macOS. Import Anki .apkg / .colpkg decks and study with FSRS scheduling — no sync server, no account, cards live in ~/Library/Application Support/Lumen/.
The engine is lumen-core in Rust: SQLite persistence, Anki package import (ZIP/zstd), card templates, HTML rendering, and FSRS via rs-fsrs. The desktop shell is Tauri 2 with a custom vanilla HTML/CSS/JS UI — no React, no web framework — plus native macOS toolbar integration through AppKit.
This is an independent implementation of the public Anki package format. It does not include Anki source code. Scheduling starts fresh after import in v1.
I built this to own the full study loop on Mac — import, review, and rate cards — with a UI I control and a Rust core I can trust.
Usage
source "$HOME/.cargo/env"
./scripts/package-macos.sh
open -a LumenCards: 1–4 rate Again / Hard / Good / Easy. Space shows the answer. ⌘N adds a Basic card.
